Dunroven Oversize Flour sack tea towels are about ~24" x 36" to the left are finished on all 4 sides with a hanging tag in one corner. Flour sack towels are a bit lighter weight and looser weave than the traditional homespun towels but still excellent quality. They have the softness and fine even weave reminiscent of the feed sack towels of the 1930's. These can be used for so many things. Great for hand or machine appliqué, stenciling, hand embroidery, candle wicking, painting, or jazzing up with rick rack and buttons. May be used for machine embroidery for designs with low thread count and extra stabilizer. Use as a kitchen towel or in the center of a table for fresh country look. They can be even be used for quilt blocks, especially with a vintage design like Sunbonnet Sue, butterfly or Dresden plate. They are so soft, you can even use them to back a small baby quilt. Great for tea dying too. And because they are 100% cotton, they make great cloths to polish fine glassware, silverware and even the car (but don't tell Dad). |
